A community messaging network
Keweenaw Mesh
Powered by MeshCore
Keweenaw Mesh is a free-to-use text messaging system with coverage in Houghton and Keweenaw Counties. Coverage is provided by repeater hosts that donate their unused structure space and volunteers that build/install solar-powered repeaters. Use it when cell towers are unavailable, the power is out, or you just want to use private communications. Our messaging system leverages MeshCore for state of the art encryption and mesh technology for reliability. It does not rely on any other outside infrastructure.

About Us
What we're up to
We have our second repeater up and running thanks to the fine folks at the Open Skies Project. Hosted at Mt Horace Greely, this repeater covers some real ground. It has a solid link back to the repeater near Oskar. We will continue adding locations as time and expenses allow.
Your Invitation
No one needs permission to contribute and join the network. We do ask that our repeater operating friends opt to keep settings consistent and standard, for providing the best service possible. We are part of Michigan Mesh! Please join the ~200 member Michigan Mesh Signal Group Chat for the most up-to-date information. Let them know that keweenawmesh.com sent you.
Our Commitment
We strategically align with Michigan Mesh for our guides and standards. We commit to keep this network open and available for all.
